What happens when you press play
- Two lines, two languages
- The language you learn on top, your own underneath. Blur the bottom line when you want to train your ear.
- Translations sized to your level
- Pick Beginner, Intermediate or Experienced. Kinoglot only adds a translation in parentheses to the words you are unlikely to know, based on word lists aligned with the CEFR (A1 to C2) and on how often each word is used.
- A word card on hover
- Hover a word: the video pauses and you see its meaning, its pronunciation and its level. Click it to hear it.
- The actor says it again
- Replay the line with the real voice from the scene, slow it down to 0.75x or loop it until you catch every word.

Train your ear for exams like the TOEIC
Listening is often half the exam. Blur your language, listen to natural speech at full speed, and only reveal the translation when you need it. Everyday and workplace words keep coming back in series, and you can save them as you go.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Dual subtitles, translations at your level, the word card, the voice and the replay are free, with no account. Paid extras may come later for features that cost us money to run, such as AI explanations or sync across devices.
Which sites does it work on?
Netflix and YouTube today, on videos that have subtitles in the language you learn. More streaming services are on the way.
Which languages?
You can learn English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, French or Japanese, with the second line in your own language. The interface is available in the same seven languages.
Does it slow down the video?
No. Kinoglot reads the subtitles the platform already provides and draws its own lines on top of the player.
Do I need an account?
No. Install it, choose your level, watch.
